workshops 2009
Sound Art & Design
March 25-27, 2009 - from 10:00 to 17:00
Lets take a plunge into the design and composition of sonic experiences.
During this three-day workshop the basics of recording, editing, processing and mixing practices will be introduced within the context of sound art and sound in relation the other art forms.
The program starts with the history and aesthetic discourse of experimental sound art practice over the past 50 years in relation to the concepts of sound and space. This will be followed by two days of hands on praxis.
The focus is twofold. We'll deal with sound in function of spatial installations and sound in relation to image. Through the introduction of digital processing techniques and composition strategies, participants will get a taste of areas they can later explore intuitively.
The workshop takes place in the auditorium at the Hisk from March 25th until 27th, from 10.00 til 17.00 and will be taught by Christoph De Boeck.
