workshops 2011
Web 2.0 Design, Development & Context
October 26-28, 2011 - from 10:00 to 17:00
Webdesign has much evolved since the last recent years. In the early days learning basic html was enough to do some decent web design. Now days you need scripting languages such as javascript, php or asp to spice up your website. Luckily you have "WYSIWYG" software - what you see is what you get - such as dreamweaver, that let you deal with building more complex sites without having to worry to much about the code. Or you can use prefab packages such as "Wordpress" or some wiki to make your own blog, forum or site. But still, sometimes you need to tweak a script or change a little something in the code or you'd like to change the layout of these packages. Then a basic understanding of the way these sites work can be helpful.
This workshop is intended to give you a general introduction :
- learn the basics of html, so you can "read" the code when you need to.
- change your stylesheet or css that defines how your pages look like
- how to prepare your images for the web : resolution and formats
- webhosting, where will you host your site
- ftp or ftp, a secure way to access and edit your webpages
- ...
The workshop takes place in the auditorium at the Hisk from Oct 26th until Oct 28th, from 10.00 til 17.00 and will be taught by Ingrid Stojnic and Bert Balcaen
These workshops are open for all HISK Candidates/Laureates and KASK students. Seats are limited.
